Flash-Float-Focus

This exercise forces the shooter to balance speed and accuracy. It also stresses numerous fundamentals, including trigger press and recoil management. To engage quickly, the shooter must choose the sight picture appropriate to the target (e.g., Flash, Float or Focus). Remember that you must start at Low Ready and return to Low Ready after engaging each target.

Preparation

  • One magazine loaded with ten rounds.
  • Hang the target at 12 feet.
  • The starting position is firearm loaded at the Low Ready.

COURSE OF FIRE

  • Fire 1 Round in the 1-square
    • Return to Low Ready
  • Fire 2 Rounds in the 2-square
    • Return to Low Ready
  • Fire 3 Rounds in the 3-square
    • Return to Low Ready
  • Fire 4 Rounds in the 4-square

Time

  • 30 Seconds
