This exercise, along with the companion Vertical Bars Drill, will help you master sight alignment. These targets break sight alignment down into UP-DOWN and LEFT-RIGHT. The horizontal bars target is very unforigiving of uneven front and rear sights as well as a rough trigger press.
Preparation
- 1 magazine loaded with 9 rounds.
- Hang the target at 10 feet.
- The starting position is firearm loaded, at the low ready.
COURSE OF FIRE
- Fire 3 rounds at the middle bar
- Fire 1 round at each bar, top to bottom.
- Fire 1 round at each bar, bottom to top.

- 30 Seconds
