Vertical Bars

This exercise, along with the companion Horizontal Bars Drill, will help you master sight alignment. These targets break sight alignment down into UP-DOWN and LEFT-RIGHT. The vertical bars target is very unforigiving of a front sight not perfectly centered in the rear sight.

Preparation

  • 1 magazine loaded with 9 rounds.
  • Hang the target at 10 feet.
  • The starting position is firearm loaded, at the low ready.

COURSE OF FIRE

  • Fire 3 rounds at the middle bar
  • Fire 1 round at each bar, left to right.
  • Fire 1 round at each bar, right to left.

Time

  • 30 Seconds
